<p>In 1957 Kasum Nazhmudinov had graduated from the air force college. In 1961 he was employed as a pilot-instructor by one of the aero clubs of the Soviet Union and simultaneously became very active in aerobatics and in his work as a coach. He was the head of the team of one of the USSR regions, which performed successfully and several times was the prize-winner in its region. In 1964 his team became the RSFSR Champion and K. Nazhmudinov started to perform as a member of the USSR aerobatic team. From 1969 to 1991 he was employed as the senior coach of the USSR aerobatic team. 12 overall world champions have been trained by him for this period. Among them such world known names as Mrs. Svetlana Savitskaya, pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR, FAS of Russia Secretary General Khalide Makagonova, multi-time World Champion Svetlana Kapanina, Russian National aerobatics coach, FAI Gold Air Medal Winner Victor Smolin, Victor Chmal, Igor Egorov, etc. K. Nazhmudinov is the author of several instructional aids for training pilots to fly by the YAK-52, instructional aid for training aerobatics, etc. He is the Honored Coach of the USSR and has several Government awards. From 1980 to 2001 he was CIVA Vice-President. He goes on working now as a coach in one of the top Russian aero clubs. For his many years devotion to the development of air sports in Russia and great contribution to the improvement of training highly qualified pilots K. Nazhmudinov is considered quite worthy to be awarded with the FAI Air Sport Medal.</p>
