3rd FAI World Hang Gliding Sports Class Championship

The World event is organized by the Aero Club Lega Piloti in cooperation with the Delta Club Laveno.
In the last 10 years, the main organiser, Aero Club Lega Piloti, has worked a lot to improve the Sport Class in Hang Gliding. Main dedicated stages have been managed and pilots have been trained by pilots of the Italian National team. Each FAI Cat 2 competition has always included this class.
On the other side, Laveno Mombello represents the history of hang gliding in Italy, also thanks to the presence of Icaro 2000, one of the main Hang Gliding producers in the world. Aware of this value, the local administration is supporting local pilots to improve the discipline.
Due to its commitment to the environment, this Championship became the first Hang Gliding event to get the CIVL Green Logo,
