FAI International Drones Conference and Expo
2017 edition
The 1st FAI International Drones Conference and Expo took place from 1 to 3 September 2017 at the Rolex Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The conference and expo was being held as part of EPFL Drone Days, a three-day discovery showcase about the world of Drones and Drone technology. The venue, EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), is a research institute and a proven centre for excellence in robotics research and innovation.
EPFL Drone Days 2017 also included three days of drone-racing held by the Swiss Rotor Sports Association (SRSA) and a robotics showcase by the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research Robotics (NCCR Robotics).
The FAI was founded in 1905 and recognized by the IOC. It has responsibility to govern, grow and unify leisure and sport Drone activities globally.
