1st Allocation of PG XC Worlds France is published
The organisers with the support of CIVL have finished the 1st round of allocation for the 18th FAI World Paragliding Championship in Chamoux, France on February 20, 2023.
On the day of the allocation, we had 285 pilots from 56 countries - a remarkable number of countries which is a record in itself. However, not all fit the eligibility criteria. The screening committee has received 18 exemption requests, all were carefully studied: 2 happened to be sent by mistake as the pilots were eligible, 2 more were accepted as exemptions. At the end of allocation, we finished with 150 participants distributed between 55 countries which lead to 3-4 pilots in a team on average. Some countries though managed to send only 1-2 pilots and the 4 top countries got 5 places.
The 1st allocation results are published on the competition website: https://civlcomps.org/event/pgworlds-2023/blog
And can be found in the Downloads section of the event website together with a preliminary check of FAI Sporting Licences.
We invite all NACs to ensure that the pilots they approve for the Championship are issued FAI SL in time.
We invite NACs to pay for the participants ASAP and send the payment to the organizers together with NAC approval letter for the selected pilots. The NACs should send approval and payment confirmation before March 1st when the second allocation will be run.
Slots that will not be paid and confirmed by the list of pilots will be reallocated.
Those NACs that cannot yet be sure whom they want to see in the Team can send provisional approval for top pilots in the given quote to keep their slots. They have the right to replace any pilot with another eligible pilot from their nation till the beginning of the competition.
